BETWEEN NOW AND THE DAY OF FULFILLMENT (No Disappointments Again)

SHARE

I have often heard "Life is war" and "Life is how you make it". These two proverbs, which have been rendered almost as clichès, always ring the bell of responsibility in my ears, every time I hear them. I am sure they do for others, too. For me, when I hear "Life is how you make it", I think about how my today is, and think about how my tomorrow will look like. My tomorrow will look like how I plan it today. It isn't dependent on promises from people. And such is how your tomorrow will look like, too. Read on...
People say to us: "Relax, tomorrow by this time, I will give you such and such..." Sometimes they give us; most times, they don't. Then, when we don't get what was promised, we cry: "They disappointed us!" But, why do we wait? Maybe we believe them. We believe them so much so that we don't think they can disappoint us. And that is the problem! But the truth is, until we start doubting them, and begin working and making life the way we want it for ourselves, we will always be disappointed. Therefore, it is important to doubt them.
When the promise comes, hallelujah! It is good. But if it is from a human being, like you and I, then between now and the day of the fulfilment of that promise, we shouldn't depend solely on them. We shouldn't even think about it. Rather, we must work hard, and gain something for ourselves. Even if we read the Bible and find a promise from God; or our pastors prophesy upon our lives, will the promise come, if we sit down, unconcerned?
LIFE IS HOW YOU MAKE IT. And, the heart of a human being is deeper than the ocean. Promises are vain; lip service is nothing. The longer you wait, the more time you waste. If one day the promise gets fulfilled, that's fine. But between now and then, if it has not come, start doing something for yourself. If you wait, you wait for disappointment. If you work, you work for fulfillment, for yourself. Depend on no human being, except GOD.
Let us ponder on these...
