GOODBYE 2017; WELCOME, 2018! (Part of the works of Isaac Essoun)

SHARE

We thank you 2017,
For your services:
The good, helpful services,
And the other obnoxious ones.
It was both fun and painful;
Both happiness and sadness.
It was as well fullness and hunger;
And successes, and failures.
Yet through it all you partnered us,
And came with us this 365-journey,
Through the good helpful services,
And the other obnoxious ones.
We are torn asunder today, 2017:
You leave the stage for 2018.
When we recall all your good works,
We only wish we shall meet again.
Tell 2018 all your flaws:
Tell him never to repeat them.
Tell him the good things you did;
Force him to do and multiply them.
Goodbye, 2017!
So sad we won't meet again, dear.
Welcome, 2018!
Bring good fortune, this new year...
