IT SHALL BE REVEALED (Part 1)

SHARE
This lesson is an extract from one of the songs of one of Ghana's renowned high life artistes, the late Akwasi Ampofo Adjei, entitled Ebeda Edi (It shall be revealed). I think it is worth sharing...

One evening, one gentleman, called Osei, after a meal with his father, asked him: "Father, I often hear you say, 'No evil can be hidden; and whatever a man sows, he shall reap. If one swears into a pit and covers it, it shall come out.' And I do not understand this, Father, for people murder, gossip, fornicate, and steal. Yet they are never caught."
His father replied, "Oh, my beloved son, anything you do, think twice about it, for you shall reap the consequence tomorrow. If you kill an animal and hide it, it will be known when it starts rotting. So whether you murder or steal, it shall be revealed."
Osei doubted his father's advice. So the next day, he went into the bush alone, dug a pit, swore into it, covered it, and went home, unnoticed. He was waiting to see if it would be revealed.
Seven months passed, and no one had heard the news. Surprised and anxious, Osei went to his father and asked him, "You told me, Father, that no evil can be hidden; whatever one does in this world, it shall surely be revealed; if one swears into a pit and covers it, it shall come out. But how come have I done this about seven months ago, and no one has heard about it?"
His father said to him, "There it is! What you hid and did, God has revealed it today. This is the ripe time for you to reveal it to the world. And once you've told me, know that everyone else has also heard it."
LESSON
Even if no one sees you, you will reveal it yourself, one day. And the marks, will be like footprints on the seashore: so clear and so indelible. So then, think twice.
