THE SEPARATION TOOL

SHARE
My life has been entangled
In the four impenetrable walls of religion:
There are no doors or windows for oxygen.
I have no freedom again to see for a choice;
Not even in my wedlock.

I slipped on some wet floor
And fell helplessly in love!
Right beside me where I fell,
Lay the love of my life.
But a huge gulf severed us:
The chasm of religion.

So has this religion disfavoured me,
And made me numb,
And made me loveless?
Has this religion disfavoured me,
And made me a spinster,
And made me childless?
I thought it would bring unity to mankind,
Aw, religion...
