PATIENCE

SHARE

There is one great virtue every living soul should seek to embrace.
It is a great virtue which every seeker of victory must employ,
If the real happiness of his toils, he fully wants to sate.
I was once by one woman, this pure truth taught
That if I want to a lengthy, blessed life live,
Then, must love one thing: patience.
She said: “My son, ignorant people tend to think that life is a race;
So they run and with others compete, and in the end destroy
Their glorious future; never like them be, lest you hate
Sound advice and do that which you must do not.
Forget not that, haste makes waste, so give
An ear to this counsel in obedience.”
O I was very grateful to her because she helped me to easily trace
That which could really help me this bittersweet life, to enjoy.
When I obeyed her guidelines I found my success’ gate;
That is the secret to the good things I’ve today got.
My seed also, by this will succeed, I believe:
So will implant it I in his conscience!
Now, if you pray to be prosperous and swim in long-lasting grace,
Then never rush in life for you may mistakenly upend the joy
Set before you in haste, and regret when it’s finally late.
Watch this structure: the poet for patience sought!
If you value patience, you’ll certainly receive
Lasting rewards from the Omniscient.
